However, the Angleton Police Department later clarified that there was no evidence suggesting she entered a blue truck, and they suspect her disappearance is a runaway incident. Surveillance video captured Karley walking near her home with a backpack at approximately 2 p.m.

They explained that the criteria for an AMBER alert involve a child 13 years of age or younger taken, willingly or unwillingly, without permission from the care and custody of a parent or legal guardian by someone unrelated and more than three years older.
