Kim Jong Un’s Note To The Prime Minister Of Japan
President Kim Jong Un sent a message of sympathy to Fumio Kishida, Prime Minister of Japan, on January 5.
In the message, Leader Kim Jong Un expressed his condolences to Fumio Kishida, and through him, to the families affected by the Ishikawa quake. “Praying for recovery”, said the Republic of North Korea’s leader.
Messages Of Sympathy From World Leaders
Japan has received messages of sympathy and support from various countries, like India, the USA, and the UK, among others.
India’s PM Narendra Modi pens a heartfelt note to Kishida, expressing solidarity with Japan and its people. “I am deeply anguished and concerned to learn about the major earthquake that struck Japan on January 1. I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families of those who lost their lives. We stand in solidarity with Japan and its people affected by the disaster,” wrote the PM.
United States President Joe Biden stated, “The United States stands ready to provide any necessary assistance for the Japanese people” expressing support to its ally nation Japan.
Furthermore, the United Kingdom has extended its support, with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak affirming that the UK is “ready to support Japan.” He also conveyed solidarity with those impacted by the earthquakes.
Japanese government spokesperson Yoshimasa Hayashi expressed gratitude for these messages, stating that Japan was grateful for all the condolences, including the one from North Korea.

The 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck at 16:10 JST (07:10 UTC) on New Year’s Day at Ishikawa Prefecture. As seen in the map above, the earthquake was centered 7 km (4.3 mi) north-northwest of Suzu, located on the Noto Peninsula of Ishikawa Prefecture.
The quake gave rise to heavy loss of life and property. It resulted in a death toll exceeding 100, with more than 200 people still missing.
The quake also triggered landslides and Tsunamis in several towns, including Wajima and Suzu.
As of now, more than 30,000 people have been safely evacuated. Unfortunately, the loss of property and economy tolls on a higher range.
