Litchfield’s grand tone sets the tone for Australia’s onslaught

Litchfield’s innings was a display of pure class and power. She came on during the early fall of wickets and stabilized Australia’s innings with a calm start. Once she got noticed, she started playing attacking shots, sending Indian bowlers to all parts of the pitch. Healy provides solid support

Litchfield received great support from opening partner Alyssa Healy and displayed typical offensive pitching, conceding 82 runs. The two scored 156 runs for the first wicket, laying the foundation for Australia’s huge total. Healy’s knock was studded with her 11 fours and her sixes and she continued to tick the scoreboard at a fast pace.

Mid-table intervenes to push Australia past 350 points

After Healy and Lichfield left, the Australian middle class continued to attack. Australian captain Meg Lanning contributed a valuable 39 points, with quick cameos from Beth Mooney and Elise Perry, taking Australia’s total to over 350 points. Indian bowlers struggle to contain Australia’s batting power

The Indian bowlers simply lost to the Australian batsmen. None of the bowlers could find any rhythm and were torn apart by the aggressive Australian batsmen. India’s experienced pacer Jhulan Goswami was the chosen bowler with two wickets, but even she conceded an expensive 72 runs in 10 overs. Smriti Mandhana is the only bright spot in India’s dismal batting record India’s batsmen could not resist Australia’s astonishing results. Only Smriti Mandhana, who featured in India’s opener, showed any resistance by conceding just 29 runs. The rest of the Indian batsmen fell like dominoes, with Jemima Rodriguez (25) becoming the only player to reach double figures.

Spin twin picks up slow wickets but cannot prevent defeat

India spinners Deepti Sharma and Rajeshwari Gayakwad managed to pick up some late wickets, but the damage had already been done. In the end Australia won the game by a whopping 190 runs and secured the series victory. An unforgettable day for Australia, an unforgettable match for India

The third ODI was a memorable day for Australia. They put in a top-quality batting performance and the bowlers did enough to defend a massive total. For India, it was a match to forget. Their batsmen are simply outmatched by the better Australians and they will need to rebuild their team quickly if they are to protect their pride in the remaining matches of the series.
